Green Drink Reviews: Green Vibrance
June 21st, 2008
An excellent formulation of spirulina, grasses and vegetable powders. Includes a nice selection of “extra botanicals” including bee pollen, ginko biloba, green tea extract, and Astragalus. Contains a slightly high amount of filler/fibrous ingredients, but that’s offset by an excellent price tag. Also has a fruit blend, probiotic cultures and enzymes. The mango powder, cayenne, and ginger are excellent additions. Overall, this is an excellent formulation at a reasonable price.

Good cost-benefit ratio and a very well thought-out formulation.

I have been taking Green Vibrance and have been liking it a lot. The taste is no worse than the others and better than most. Still, if you gag at green drinks in general, then I suggest one of these two recipes (my favorite recipes):
Chocolate Green Shake
In a blender, add 12 oz of vanilla almond milk, one heaping tablespoon of pure chocolate powder, 1/4 cup of peanuts (or a tablespoon of organic peanut butter), honey or maple syrup to taste. Oh, and your favorite green drink powder. Blend until well mixed.
Vanilla Fruit Smoothie
In a blender, add 1 cup of frozen berries, 12 oz of vanilla almond milk, honey or maple syrup to taste and your favorite green drink. Mix well.

I use my juicer and juice 2 cucumbers, a green apple and three stalks of celery and mix that with my green vibrance. It really helps with the taste and is my morning pick me up.

I love this green drink and see amazing results with my life when I drink it..the only thing is that I use about 3 times the reccommended dose to feel the effects. Whatever though.. My drink: Frozen Organic mixed Berries. (Blueberry, blackberry, raspberry) Orange Juice or Grapefruit Juice, Banana, and xylitol. You can’t taste the green at all with the berries. xoxo

Don’t try drinking this with water. It’s like licking the bottom of a pond. At the very least mix it with some juice. That said, this stuff worked for me. I cam back from Thailand where I was on antibiotics for a month with my stomach a complete mess. Three days on this stuff and I was back to normal. To be clear, I had discontinued the antibiotics at the same time I started with the GV. Next time I will be taking the GV with me and taking it while on the antibiotics.

This is probably the best green blend I have ever found! Its got just about everything but the kitchen sink! I add a little healthy juice like Pom or Acai, 1 cap of fulvic ionic minerals, some ice and then fill up the remainder of the glass with water - easy as pie to drink this way!!!

The best way to drink GV is with very cold water.

I just started this drink and ABSOLUTELY feel the difference.
Everyone, this is NOT a smoothie. I don’t know why so many people offer comments like “this is like licking the bottom of a pond.” Have you ever done such a thing? How would you know?
And it really tastes GREAT if you mix it with some OJ. Quite easy!
You wil feel a boost in sex

“Licking the bottom of a pond” is a great image for drinking a green drink in plain water. I also like “swamp in a cup” and one of my favorites is “it tastes like putting a frog in a blender.”
But let’s be serious. Green drinks are not meant to be mixed with just plain water. In my opinion, the best green drinks are usually not the best tasting. Most people really need to mix their green drink with juice or chocolate soy milk or some other flavored liquid. If you like V8 juice, try adding your green drink to plain tomato juice. You’ll get a super healthy version of V8 for a lot less money. Even the flavored green drinks (which usually taste horrible for other reasons, like too much stevia, mint, or added flavors) are best when mixed with juice.
So don’t judge your green drink on its flavor alone! Our “taste” category in these reviews is really just to give you an idea of how you can mix these powders. Some are best with fruit juices, others are best with chocolate and soy milk and some are neutral and can go either way. Flavored green drinks actually have fewer mixing possibilities, because they already have a strong taste.
Keep the comments coming!

I have Fibro and a pretty weak immune system. This stuff is the only thing that I have found that keeps my system on track! Definitely drink it with juice…preferrably orange…or orange/pineapple. Don’t drink it with water! It tastes “green”. I have to tell you though, I have not gotten sick this whole cold and flu season — and I believe it’s because of this stuff! I highly recommend it!

I felt a huge increaes in overall health. I felt happier and my head was clearer. I bought a case of mini apple juices from Costco(Price Club, BJs). Threw in one scoop and slammed it. Once you get used to it, it tastes fine. I really felt like it was worth the 10 secs of bad after taste. I buy the family size one just for me and keep it in the freezer. I love it.

It’s been a long time since I licked the bottom of a pond or a nice tall glass of Blender Frog, perhaps centuries..I enjoyed all the creativity alot..About me: I use to take this and felt the difference..after gaining way too many pounds, it’s time to hit the Happy Trail of nutrition rather than comfort foods and GV is terrific for that…Personally, I think it tastes like Health!!

I agree that this is a hard drink to get down. The best way for me is to mix it with one of those Dannon yogurt drinks. You have to mix it real well. It helps mentally if you dont have to look at the color and you leave it in the dannon container

This stuff is delicious in fresh squeezed orange juice.
It is simply divine mixed into chocolate soy milk.
Take your pick.
Either one is a creamy delight and I love the crunch of the particles as they hydrate.
I really like the taste of this stuff and it gives me an instant energy and mood boost when I drink it at any time of day.
I usually can’t drink just one serving. ;) It really tastes and feels good.
As I transitioned into the raw foods lifestyle, my body experience some detox reactions and I believe that this mix of nutrients helped me to alleviate some muscle pain.

Does anyone know if GV fulfills the Daily Recommended allowance for Vegetables? If not the total amount, half the amount or a quarter? Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.
PS - I drink mine with 4 oz of OJ (not from concentrate) - looks and smells bad but tastes fine.

The RDA amounts are actually quite vague and difficult to measure. They give the RDA amounts for fruits and vegetables in “number of servings per day” for different levels of calorie intake…but they don’t exactly tell you how many nutrients that represents. That’s because one cup of corn is quite different nutritionally than one cup of kale. So the RDA values are considered to be a very rudimentary guideline. Most nutritionists believe that you need much more than the RDA values.
The RDA does provide values for specific nutrients, vitamins and minerals, so you could calculate the AVERAGE amount of these nutrients in a cup of “mixed veggies” and go from there. You’ll probably find that a nutrient-rich superfood drink (like Green Vibrance and others reviewed here) offers the equivalent of about 4 to 5 cups of mixed veggies per serving. If you take one serving in the morning and another in the afternoon (not to mention veggies you eat during the day), then you’ve probably gone way beyond the RDA and that’s probably a good thing.
By the way, the RDA for an average adult with a 2,200 calorie diet is 4.5 servings per day. Women or those with a smaller calorie intake require fewer servings, while very active people and teens can go as high as 6 servings.
Remember these comments are just to give you a general and “common sense” guideline…

Any side affects? I have had a headache that appears within 30 minutes of drinking my greens. Never had them before. Am I detoxing? Anyone got any ideas? This has been going on for 10 days.
20. admin | June 23rd, 2009 at 3:18 pm
Getting a headache 30 minutes after drinking your green drink would not be a common detox reaction, so I would consider the possibility that you are allergic to something in this mixture. Of course, if your headaches continue after you stop taking the green drink, then you should consult a doctor.
There are numerous ingredients in the Green Vibrance mixture, so the chances are good that one or more has affected you. A good test would be to purchase one of the “simple” formulations — one that doesn’t have too many ingredients (such as Dr. Shulze’s SuperFood or Mighty Greens) and see if you get the same reaction. If so, then you may be allergic to the grasses, spirulina or chlorella. You can try to find a green formula without these things…or you can just switch your health supplementation to red drink formulas instead.
If you don’t have a reaction to the basic formulas, then you can start adding different ingredients to see if you can pinpoint the culprit. You can get many of these ingredients in extract (tincture) form at health food markets. Green tea extract and ginko biloba are two good starting points.

Thank you for the information. I do have allergies to different types of blooming trees and plants, so perhaps it is the grasses. I’m going to continue for another week and see if anything changes. I have much more energy and my brain isn’t so foggy anymore. I really don’t want to discontinue the product, but it’s nice to know what the issue might be with me. We’ll see what happens! Thanks again.
