Review: Tony Robbins Green Drink (Pure Energy Greens with MSM)
August 10th, 2010
Tony Robbin’s greens product, like most things Tony produces, uses a no-nonsense approach with a focus on what works. It’s one of the most simple formulations I’ve seen and, in many ways, one of the best. It has no fillers and focuses on the “big greens,” grasses, alfalfa, broccoli powder, spinach powder, and kelp. There are no special herbs and no flavorings. The only other thing you’ll get is a healthy dose of MSM, which is a type of sulfite that your body needs for healthy joints. It’s great for controlling pain and general health…and most Americans are deficient in it. Overall, this is a great formula for anyone wanting the essentials without a lot of other ingredients and at $3.23 per ounce, it’s a great value.
Compare with Perfectly Healthy Mega Greens.

If I wanted to do a cleanse with this drink (i.e. no food just the green drink) for a couple of days would that be recommended? If not, what green drink would you recommend?

Tiff, I’m not sure what your goal is, so it’s difficult to make a suggestion. If you want to cleanse your colon and digestive system, then I would not recommend using this or any other green drink as the main cleansing element. Although the Greens Today formula has some cleansing ingredients that might work, but I’d recommend a true colon cleansing system if that’s your goal.
If your goal is to cleanse your blood, then look for products with herbs like milk thistle, beet root powder, taro root, garlic extract, burdock root…to name just a few.
If your goal is to lose weight, then I’d actually suggest replacing one or two meals each day with your chosen green drink (Tony’s is fine for this) and keeping this up for a week or two. However, if you keep this up for more than a couple weeks, then I recommend a green drink that also has some protein in it. See the product roundup article for more info on this.
