Review: VitaForce

review, magma plusA super robust formula that is the most nutritionally dense and balanced green drink on the market — it truly serves as both a top notch green drink and as a multivitamin/multimineral supplement. VITAFORCE has a great balance of all the nutrients you need daily, and, unlike most green drinks, it has a complete vitamin and mineral label showing exactly the amount of nutrients you get per serving. Of particular note, it contains reliable sources of essential nutrients that are almost always lacking in other green drinks, such as Vitamin B-12, Vitamin D, zinc and selenium.

Lemongrass, the Most Versatile of Plants

by Edna Sousa
I once said that my favorite exotic cure was Aloe vera. Well, that’s still true. But my second favorite is lemongrass (cymbopogon citratus) because is found all over the world in almost any form — herbal tea, oil, extract, raw or dry and it’s a unique plant with so many benefits for health and beauty.

Do You Think You’ve Seen Aromatherapy?

by Edna Sousa
Imagine yourself in an Indian market, or in a field of roses. Or even if you are hungry and someone is making a garlicky homemade food or even a Sunday BBQ smell. Oh yes, aroma has its power!

For many centuries essential oils have been used as alternative medicines, benefitting body and mind. Eucalyptus for respiratory system, orange for relaxation, geranium and cypress for balance and centering. Oils were also added to meals and cosmetics; used in rituals, massage and baths; and used to create perfumes and incenses.

The King of Fragrance, Boswellia (Frankincense) for Mind and Body

by Edna Sousa
The benefits of oils and incenses for mind, body and spirit have been well known for ages. And of all the oils and essences from all the ages, I’d have to say that Frankincense garners the most respect. It’s the king of aroma therapy (rose oil probably being the queen) and has been used by many cultures for many purposes.

Frankincense or Boswellia is one of the gifts brought by the three wise men for Baby Jesus. But before the Western world became aware of it, the Eastern civilization was using it for centuries in sacred events and even in traditional Ayurvedic medicine in India.

Does Water Respond to Thought?

Science has been studying water for years, specifically, how water responds to different types and frequencies of energy. From magnets to rock-and-roll music, from happy thoughts to “blessings,” water has been exposed to all sorts of experiments and scientific studies.

The upshot of it all? Well, water does respond to energy. It changes on a molecular level based on the energy being transmitted to it. Many believe that the biblical story of Jesus turning water into wine can be explained as a kind of energy transfer that changed the structure of the water molecules…a kind of “super” energy transfer.

Snails for Health and Beauty

Snail eating is not just found in French cuisine. Escargots are known by different names to the Chinese, Japanese, South American and African cultures, which also enjoy the health benefits and flavor of this delicacy. Well, I’m not going to give you a recipe for escargot. In fact, I know what you’re thinking: “I’d never eat that!” Well, don’t worry! You don’t even need to eat them to get the best of their benefits.

Three “Bad” Foods that are Actually Good for You (in moderation)

There is so much manipulation of the press and scientific community these days around health and wellness. Big corporate interests want you to believe what supports their corporate agenda and they’ll manipulate the facts surrounding your foods. Certain foods end up getting a bad reputation for being “bad for you” when they are really good for you if eaten in “normal” quantities. Here are three good foods that have suffered from bad press:

Review: Magma Plus

review, magma plusMagma Plus is made by the same people who make Green Magma. This formulation is their super green drink with a variety of greens and veggies. In fact, they put everything imaginable in there with a focus on barley grass, wheat grass, alfalfa, and veggie powders (carrots, cabbage, beats and others). There is an acceptable amount of what they call “whole food extracts,” which is mostly a selection of healthy fillers (chicory root, wheat germ, brown rice).

Best Juicers: Blender Emulsifiers

There’s not doubt that the best way to get super nutrition on a regular basis is to juice your own fruits and veggies. You’ll end up with fresh, sometimes live juices from any fruit or vegetable you can get your hands on…plus all the pulp. And you can get creative with your mixtures — adding fruits and vegetables to suit your needs in the moment. If you’re feeling a cold coming on…add some extra citrus to your blender. Want a blood cleanse? Add some beats and dandelion greens. The possibilities are endless and although you’ll pay a bit up front for the machine, the cost benefits of juicing instead of buying homogenized, packaged juices pays off in the long run.

Say No to Plastic Water Bottles

You’ve probably heard how recycling plastic water bottles is creating a huge impact on certain foreign nations who get stuck with mountains of bottles that never really get recycled. So how do you avoid the plastic bottle when just about every manufacturer uses them?

Well, more and more manufacturers are using alternatives and a couple of them include Glacia Ice Box, which you can get on Amazon.com, and O.N.E. Water, which you can also get on Amazon.com. And new products are coming out this year!

The Importance of Good Water

Everyone knows that water is super important to our health…that the human body is made up of almost 80% water and that proper hydration is at the core of any good health protocol. But the story of water is just beginning and it’s getting more and more complicated! Soft drink and candy companies are buying up bottled water businesses right and left…and it’s all about profits. But bottled water is not necessarily any better for you than tap water in most modern cities (not all cities, of course).

Review: SuperFood Seasoning

SuperFood Seasoning is a different take on superfood powders. Rather than a green drink mix, this product is a sprinlke-on seasoning that contains nothing but herbs and superfoods. It tastes great and goes well with any savory foods…and makes certain foods (like popcorn and ramen noodles) healthy in a very economical way. They recommend it with popcorn as a meal replacement, but you can use it on pasta, salads, toast, eggs…just about anything.

Featured ingredients include reishi and shiitake mushroom powders, which are great for healing, brain function and appetite control; seaweeds, which are rich in nutrients; pomegranate powder, a great source of antioxidants; tumeric and much more. Provides an easy way to add superfood nutrition to your diet every day. At $3.42 per ounce, it’s comparable to any green drink on the market…and you might find it more useful in many situations.
